Issue with currency conversion

Hi Experts

I am facing a issue while calculating the currency conversion. We r having a report which display the amount for the individual months as well as YTD values when v r doing the currency conversion for the individual months v r getting the right values but not the same with YTD.

Suppose we r having 100 records for jan and dollar rate is 41, 150 records for feb with dollar rate 42,

And March we are having 200 records with dollar rate 44, if I had taken the values on an average like 41,42,44 divided by 3 and this value is multiplying with the number of records we are not getting the Accurate value.

Pls let me know what I have to do to achieve the same.

Hi,

To achieve this we need to incorporate this in the data-modeling stage only.... Since your dataprovider will have Summary level data the averaging might not work. You need to convert it for each and every record.

So better incorporate this in the modeling stage itself.

You can also define the currency conversion type to apply on a time-char which is in your cube. This permits you to convert in any kind of currency.
