Any body have an idea to solve right to left language in CR or using Unicode?
Hi Ahmed,
Open Control Panel and double click on Regional and Language setting. click on the Language Tab and check on Install files for complex script.... Now click on the Advanced tab and in the Default user account settings check on Apply all settings to the ....
Also be sure you have the Arabic fonts installed.
Do this on the WEB server and may require have the options on each work stations as well.
Thank you

Whether this will actually work depends on the SDK you are using. If you are using the Java Reporting Component, then there is no support for Arabic characters when exporting to PDF, because it will only support characters within the WinAnsi 1252 code page, as well as some Chinese and Japanese fonts.

Please disregard that part of the previous message.
As mentioned earlier, it depends on which of our products you are using to export the report. If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe.
If you are using the Crystal Reports designer or BusinessObjects Enterprise SDK to export the report, you will need to ensure you have the character set installed on the same machine; for BOE SDK it needs to be on the machine with all of the services.
As you said

How could I install character set? and what do you mean by machine client or server?
Hi All,
"If you are using the Java Reporting Component, you will not be able to see Arabic characters in your PDF document because the JRC does not support font embedding, and only works with a specific character set when exporting to Adobe" - does this holds true right now as well after 3 years or does it work now?
