SRM-MDM Search UI Configuration

Hi,

SAP note 1251227 says something about "Save the SRM-MDM Search UI Configuration".

Is this the standard saving under:

http://servername:port/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcmdmsrmcat~uisearch/MDM_SRM_UI_App ???

After having logged in to the server, I just can choose a user ...enter user specific UI settings and then say SAVE. Is this what SAP is talking about in 1251227?

Or do I oversee a button "save UI settings" or something?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Henning

Thanks for your answer,

so in the upgrading-process described in note 1251227 I only need to save the UI configurarion for user1, user2....etc. and then I can go on with the next step..."Upgrade the Search UI Configuration", right?

I don't really see the sense of this saving action...all the user specific UI configurations are saved anyway.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Henning

Hello Henning,

Yes, you have to save the settings if you configured the Search UI Configuration for a respective user of catalog. this saves the effort to configuring the required setting for a respective user again in the upgraded version of webdynpro UI.

I don't really see the sense of this saving action...all the user specific UI configurations are saved anyway.

Yes, I also think, there is no sense of it because if you configure the required setting for a perticular user of catalog, you have to save these setting then only setting reflects on the catalog screen for a perticular user. But it is only recommended to do so (Check and save) before going to actual upgrade.

I hope this will clear your doubt. If not, please update us.

Hi Henning,

Can you let me know how you are doing the Upgrade. The Upgrade needs to be done only through the Upgarde utility. You will be upgarding a configuration xml of SRM-MDM Catalog 1.0 to any version of SRM-MDM Ctalog 2.0 SP1/2/3/4..

Incase you are exporting and importing back the configuration xml, then it is not an upgrade. Its an update.. This update applies to the specific version of SRM-MDM Catalog.

Hope this helps.
