Use of Persist Message in SAP Cloud Platform Integration

Dear Experts,

We have a scenario where a certain customer wishes to integrate SAP ECC system with Hybris C4C solution but are reluctant to use SAP Cloud Platform Integration or SAP PI as a middleware system. While SCPI and PI provide out of box interface artifacts that are easy to implement, the customer is extremely concerned about the security and have a strict policy of bringing in data inside their on-premise network via PULL mechanism only and never via PUSH mechanism. In the standard interfaces, when a Business Partner or Opportunity is modified in Hybris C4C, the message is sent to SAP ECC via SCPI. However, our Customer only wants the data to arrive when they initiate the call from within SAP ECC.

Contemplating on this requirement, with my fairly limited knowledge on CPI, I was wondering if we could use the 'Persist Message' functionality to cater to this requirement. When a message is sent from Hybris C4C and arrives at CPI, I was wondering if we could just store it locally in CPI instead of sending directly to SAP. Later when SAP initiates a custom call to CPI, we can then retrieve these messages and send them back to SAP.

I appreciate that on the face of it the requirement might seem vague, but if any of you could guide me towards any case study of use of 'Persist Message' or 'Data store Operations' in CPI where a payload can be stored in CPI temporarily to be retrieved by a batch job once in a while, then that would be fantastic.

Many thanks for your help.

Dear Subhrangsu,

If you really want to use standard outbound replication integrations from C4C side, and persist them in HCI(DS), then kindly go through below links,

Link1 & Link2

However, if your requirement is to just retrieve data from C4C whenever required, then you can make use of C4C's A2X interfaces(Query and Manage) which are synchronous interfaces where call has to be generated from external system. However you need to create custom interface and proxies on ECC side.
Hope this helps.
