Two questions on CO-PA

Dear Experts,

I have two questions on CO-PA,

1. Can valuation quantity be different to sales quantity? Such like valuation quantity uses quantity in delivery document while sales quantity uses quantity in billing? And how to customize in SAP?

2. Can SAP plan revenue and production cost in CO-PA so that I can create plan vs. actual cost report as in cost center accounting?

Best regards,

Walter

Hi,

I think you have to use use Accounting base COPA to capture the Quantity Values from time of delivery.

Costing base COPA will capture the Quantity values only from the Billing.

With reagrd to COPS and Revenue Planning you can use KEPM Planning report.

Thanks

Hi NTH,

I think I got the answer of the first question. Thank you.

But after KEPM, how can I create the plan vs actual report as in cost center accounting? Which plan version in CO-PA I can get both plan data and actual data for cost component split?

Hi!

For having plan vs actual report, first of all you need to define CO versions through ORKE for your operating concern. You also needs to define plan version through KE14. Also you need to assign COPA reciever plan version for integrated planning.

All your SD condition types need to be assigned to value fields. Also to flow actual values of production orders, CO Orders - it is required to assign PA transfer structure to settlement profile. Settlement profile must allow profitlability segments as settlement recievers and it must be stored in settlement profile. The assignment ensures that variances also flows to COPA. Key figure should also be defined for when assessment is caried out from cost center accounting to COPA. Also your value fields are also to be assigned to Cost component structure in COPA.

After doing above necessary activity, you may plan for your form of report through KE34. Lines, form and header are specified by means of characteristics or value fields.

Hope it helps a lot!

Dear Taral,

Please correct me if my understanding is wrong. Does that mean I need to plan the value field for each cost component by each product? If so, so many value fields are to be planned by each cost component and product, and the value could vary to the component amount in cost estimate. Since we already have the standard cost estimate of each product, can and how can we transit the plan value of each cost compoent to the plan value of relevant value fields in CO-PA?

Hi!

As in COPA to flow values from product costing, you need to assign your cost components to Value fields on a one to one basis as you also require data to be flown from CO - PC to COPA. System can allow maximum value fields as 120. So, for this report requirement, it is needed. . Value fields and cost components are not based on products, if I am not wrong.

Also, through your characteristics in COPA itself you can link all products in the report as per report layout. As for your all product wise report, you might have made some characteristc to take it the report to that level.

Hope it should work. Pls revert back for further query.

Hi all,

After discussing the requirement with users, the requirement can not be realized by standard CO-PA so customized report are to be defined.

Thanks for your information and points are given.
