Order Entry field to operate differently based on order type

Hello All,

I have a requirement to have the receiving point field in order entry (header and detail) to use the country code table for drop down data input and validation for only 2 of the more than 20 order types available.

Please pass along pointers/guidance on how I can implement this. A search of SAP blogs has not yet revealed useful information.

Not clear with your requirement. As you should be aware, whatever you maintain at customer master and material master, system, while creating sale order, would fetch from these master data.

Hello G Lakshmipathi,

The receiving point for the company in question is not maintained at the customer master or material master level at all, so the field (empst) is basically a free format text entry field. There is a requirement that for two order types, the field use the country code drop down table used in the customer master. Since the field was subject to different values based on customer, I modified the help table assist function, so that for my two order types, it uses help type 64 instead of help type 66. Include is

MV45AV0V_VBKD-EMPST_VALUES. Probably not the correct SAP way to make this work, but I needed to move forward. And it works for me.
