I want to make change to a role which will not allow users to delete sent mails from SOST tcode. Can anyone help which authorization object i should check.
Only administrators should have SOST transaction, other users should get SOSG or SOSB
see KBA 2351372 - User access to transactions SOST, SOSV, SOSG and SOSB
and OSS note 836463 - SOSB/SOSG: Displaying/hiding functions
for more details

I ran an STAUTHTRACE - I don't see any authorization objects that control the delete. I recommend trying it in our system to see if the situation may be different. You may need to build a custom authorization object.

Tammy - SOST is a special beast whereby STAUTHTRACE won't help find the restriction. Jurgen gave the links to KBA article but you can give SOSG and then configure a parameter in a table (SXPARAMS) to hide buttons. SOSB can be given to user for their data. Only Basis should really get SOST/SCOT
Don't give SOST access, instead give SOSB or SOSG whichever suits you the best.
