BW Hierarchy InfoObject from HANA View

Hi experts,

I have a requirement to get hierarchy created in a HANA view to BW InfoObject. I'm using SAP BW 7.4, I can fill in the master data of the infoobject from a Hana View, but I can not get the hierarchy created in the view. Has anyone managed to make this work?

Hi Angelo,

as I can see you have an InfoObject based on a HANA view with Master Data Read class "Attribute view". BW queries do not support a direct consumption of HANA hierarchies. In such cases you have to use remote hierarchies.

Remote hierarchies are basically like a user exit where you can freely define in ABAP coding how to fill the hierarchy information. It could be an option to use such an ABAP class to access the HANA hierarchy information.

Thanks for the quick response, I'll check if I can use the remote class, because my hierarchy is not standard, it was customized in a Z table because of the specific needs of the business and consumed in Hana views.
