Not able to Generate PR through MRP

Hi

Experts.....!

I am facing the problem with Fabrication Metal sheets

I need 1000mm X 600mm X 20mm(Length X Width X Thick Ness) = 95kg single piece

but in my stock 250mm X 250mm X 20mm = 9.8kgs - 20 pieces so total weight is 196 kgs

when I run MRP my PR not generating because I have already stock in 196 kg's but with this stock no use for me why because I need 95kg Single Piece

(I will use this stock i.e., 196kg's for next production order)

I tried with Variable size Item also, but it is not generating PR

Please help me with this issue

Hello

I suppose you have defined Length, Width and Thickness as batch characteristics, right?

MRP will not consider batch characteristics during the net requirements calculation and, if you have enough stock in the base using of measure, MRP will not generate a new purchase requisition.

You would need to use different material codes for different dimensions, as already suggested previously, or to find a workaround, such as using an MRP area to plan each dimension of the same material.

if your dimensions are dynamic and you don't want extra material numbers then you would need to use configurable materials, KMAT.

In general you should have different material numbers per size.

If you already know that the 196 kg are used in the next production then you should have created this production order, which in turn reserves that material and makes it unavailable and hence SAP could create a PR for the quantity that is needed. Of course according to the MRP related fields maintained in the material master. (What are your values?)

Here Material dimensions and weight are dynamic so we cont create more and more materials.

That 196 kg's will use but not now
