assign multiple Purchasing data to transportation planning point

Hi All,

I have a task of configuring transportation in which I have five different purchasing groups with the same purchasing organisation. My question is while assgining the purchasing data, should I create five different transportation planning points or shipment types to handle the scenario.

I don't think shipment types, but transportation plan points perhaps should make sense to have a one to one relationship.

Of course this will complicate your processes but you can use as many transportation points as it makes business sense, for example you may have a transp planning point for sea deliveries and a different one for courier or air.

In my case they sell different makes of cars ( different purchase groups ) through the same mode of transport ( Sea).

So I guess even in this case i might have to create seperate transportation Planning Points as the service PO has to be created as per the purchasing group.

Instead of creating many organizational elements you can use the exits V54U0006 (Shipment Purchase Order - Header Data Supply), V54U0007 (Shipment Purchase Order - Item Data Supply).
