Currently on TomCat but planning on going to Wesphere

Is there documentation on how we would re-configure our existing BO XI R2 (SP3) from Tomcat to Websphere? We are thinking about doing this next year.

Hi,

I could not get what exactly you meant by 'reconfigure'?

I did installation of BO XIR2 SP4 with custom application server option checked. Installation generated .WAR files and I deployed them to WebSphere.

Nothing was working fine, everything was giving error CMC,Infoview etc.

Then I uninstalled everything, but took the backup of .WAR files. Then I did fresh install with Tomcat server option checked. I verified everything works fine CMC,Infoview without error. Then I disabled tomcat. Then again I redeployed .WAR file to websphere.

Everything worked fine after that.

You want to do the same?

Thanks & Regards,

Sandip

Sandip, thank you for that information. I am currently on BO XI R2 SP3

We were going to see if we could disabling Tomcat, doing some config changes and deploying the war files to websphere and wondered if any one has done this in the past and if so, if there were any "gotchas" I need to be aware of.

Would you recommend rather then using our current we do a fresh install of BO XI R2 SP4?

if you are already deployed on tomcat you can use the same war files for WAS. Just follow the steps in our admin guide or business objects notes/KB's

IF WAS is on a different OS then you should use war files generated from an installation on that OS. This is the only issue I've seen with war files.

We also set up WAS and tomcat at the same time using the same wars on the same server (different ports). This helps when troubleshooting WAS specific issues should one occur. Simply stop tomcat when not needed.
