Importing the CoA via DTW

I am trying to import a chart of accounts using the data transfer workbench. I am getting an error on a handful of the accounts, and I cannot figure out what it is.

The error is:

"The Field is too small to accept the data65171"

The ones that are rejected are scattered, and there doesn't seem to be anything that is different between the ones that won't work versus the one's that do work.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Are you using csv or txt files? If it's csv, try to save the excel file as txt instead, sometimes it helps. You can also check this thread:

That worked. I didn't change any of the fields at all. Just changed to it to a .txt tab delimited file and it worked perfectly. I am not sure why it worked, but thank you!

Sometimes by mistake there are a few commas left in the columns in the template so when you create a csv file, your columns will be slipped by one and probably the next column in which the value of the original column is displayed now has less characters than the other.

You can try to use VLOOKUP for all the commas in your original template, I'm sure there will be some. If you remove these, the csv file will be imported without problems as well.
