Product Life cycle Management in 1802

Hello All,

One query from my end regarding PLM.

After creating a new product, do we need to create all relevant objects (example: Customer Product, Location Product etc before we can proceed for Product Life cycle?

What i did was - created a new Product, assigned it to an existing Product, Ticked Consider Lifecycle in all forecasting model. But it did not work and nothing was seen for the new product.

Like we had Realignment in SAP APO, similarly, just by giving reference product in IBP, are all the relevant planning objects created automatically in IBP?

    Hi A.Basu,

    For the new created product, you need to create the respective planning objects using key figure upload or the copy operator or you have created the planning objects in Microsoft Excel. Please see below link for all the prerequisites of Manage Product Life Cycle.

    And if your forecast mode does not provide any output for the new product, another you need to check is the Phase-in start time. If the Phase-in Start time is in future, the forecast will not be generated till the Phase-in Start time.

      If you already have Customer Product, Location Product etc in system, you do not need to upload them again. But you still need to create the planning objects combinations for the key figure. You could upload any data for key figure to create the combinations.

    it will be helpful if you elaborate on below queries.

You could upload any data for key figure to create the combinations."---(customer product, location product etc are in the system need not upload again) do you mean data in this master data against new product.

    if we created New product and phase in start is from today I guess we need not upload data qty aginst new product, say KF actual sales qty as reference product is maintained in manage product lifecycle app. based on this forecast will be generated. can you help to understand what is need to create planning objects combinations and what should be input for new planning objects in excel -is it new product to be added or reference product.(it has input like a product, product description,loc, customer, customer description)
