Hi There,
Check the Datasource in the Table ROOSource and find your extractor. It will tell whether it supports Delta or not and if yes what kind of delta it is.
If the Delta is not supported, it is timestamp based extraction.
In this case you can populate the data in an ODS as a middlelayer before using an Infocube or a Multiprovider as a Infoprovider.
Since ODS has write capability it will give only changed records and thus would provide the delta.

The main cause for using ods object is because all fi-datasurce will support only full loads, which we can not direct load to cubes as it suppots additive delta , for this cause we go for ods , so that we can send only new and modified records to the cube

Do a search on the forums - but the reason is that you can change a FI document and the extractor only delivers after images - thus you need an ODS to resolve duplicates
