SAP HANA STUDIO and SAP WEB IDE

Hi Team,

I have heard from lots of friends that SAP will be stop supporting for SAP HANA studio in near future and they will ask all the customers/ developers to use WEB IDE for HANA development/Modelling.

If so, When will SAP stop supporting?

Kindly advice on this.

Thanks,

Raja

Your friends are correct. 🙂 SAP has announced deprecation of HANA Studio, HANA Repository, XS Classic, and the SAP HANA Web-based Development Workbench. Deprecation was announced in a note when HANA 2.0 SPS 02 was released. These older tools already have not received any new features for a while now. They will be completely removed from HANA in its next major release. They will continue to be supported throughout the lifecycle of HANA 2.0 (including all of its support packages). The note in question that describes this deprecation can be found here: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2465027

Hi Thomas,

Could you please share some docs on how to switch from modeling in HANA Modeler perspective to WEB IDE? We are currently on BW on HANA 7.50, some of the HANA modeling functions like procedure creation are already unavailable. (https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2471583)

Btw, liked your YT new video series a lot!

Thanks in advance &

Kind regards,

Sebastian

Hi Thomas,

in the feature we will not be able to use HANA express server only with HANA Studio? I do understand that Advanced edition is very powerful and nice but on the other side if we need for our test scenarios (functions, procedures, views,..) only the server only edition what shall we do? Install the XSA on a normal laptop? 🙂

I really don't get it..everybody is praising ADT but on the other side no more HANA Dev. on eclipse.

Thank you
