Solution Manager 7.2 CHARM without TMS

Hello All,

We are on a Solman ITSM project. Our customer wants to use Change Management without TMS. They only want to have Change Management work cycle ( Test - approve mangement - implemantation phase etc) in the first step of project.

Is there any way to do it?

    Hi Tutku

No problem, everyone has to start somewhere and I am continuously learning myself since new products and versions are being spawned by SAP it's impossible to know everything.

That's why I'm happy to report that in SolMan 7.2 SP3 you can even use normal / urgent change without transport requests :) since SAP adapted the code to make this possible you do not even have to use other document types.

Each document type has a status flow and actions so yes you can customize each transaction type according to your own specific needs as well.

There are multiple elements in play, there is a change cycle which defines in what phase of the project you are in "scoping, build, test, go live". You have the different transaction types (or document types) like request for change, normal change, urgent change which each have their own respective flow. From a request for change, you would typically then create a normal or urgent change.

    Best regards

    Hi

Yes, you can use charm for non CTS based changes, use request for change for approval and look for general change and admin change document types for non CTS based change document types.

    • Hello Tom,

Sorry for my newbie questions. I'm trying to learn CHARM.

On the other hand "request for change" is fitting to our project. Approval steps, Test phase, Implemantation and Development tasks are necessary for us.

So If I want to use Genaral change, Can I add same steps like Request for Change? I think I try to mean Guided Precedures.

      Regards

      Tutku
