Storage location

Hello All,

I have created a KBZI order and the material in the order is a service materialu2026.still it is asking for storage locationu2026.could you please let me know which field in the material master controls the storage location.

Dear,

Check bellow detail.

1) At the time of material master creation storage location is entered in material master.

2) Enter MM03, Enter your material code and select all view for material.

Then go in MRP2 view and check storage location for ep is maintain or not.

If it is not maintain please maintain it.

Also check production storage location in MRP2 view.

My problem is resolved...actually there was loading group maintained by someone by mistake and hence the error ...

i have removed it and it is working fine....

Hi there,

You are mixing 2 things here.

If you want to know the Storage loc details in material master, then you will find it in MRP2 screen. If you want to control it at material master, then you need to activate the MRP screens.No where else you maintain the stoarge loc details.

Else if you get an error when creating delivery then as mentioned above control at delivety item catg level.

Hello Sir,

For a service item ,....while creating material master...the moment you select Material Type as service ...tab like storage location etc (which are not relevant) don't show....so there is no chance that this tab will show up in material master.

In Material Master

Plant data /storage 1; You can see the field storage condion which reqiure for storage location determination.

Picking location / storage location determination: - MALA, RETA, MARE

u2022MALA: - determination based on the shipping point, the delivering plant, and the storage condition (Material master-plant data/storage 1)

u2022RETA: - Determination based on the delivering plant, situation, and the storage condition.

u2022MARE: - First MALA then RETA

I don't think it requires any change in configuration, as it has been this way for years now....there should be some setting in Material Master only.

But there is no MRP view maintained for this item ....only basic data ,sales org view and accounting details are maintained....

Just for the information....when i check the same type of materail for some other plant where it is working fine...

I don't find major difference between these two material except ..loading group and taxation details....

Hi there,

In the delivery item categories, there is a check box called "Storage Loc required". Uncheck the field for service items. Service items donot require storage loc.

Also service items are not relevant for picking.
