check HANA status from client side

Hi Experts,

is there is anyway to know whether HANA system/server is up or down from the client side without using HANA studio....

You can use the command line interface (hdbsql) and try to connect.

If you don't want to use any client tools, you could just check if there is something listening on HANA port. But this approach won't give you detailed information (and sometimes it may be misleading).
