How to Install App server for Existing SAP Data Services 4.2 system ?

Hi,

We have Distributed( app+db ) Data services 4.2 ( IPS + DS) system in our landscape. Now, due to performance issues, we want to add an application server to it. How can we add it? if anyone can guide me through the steps or share any document that would be great.

1/. Why don't you simply add more cores and/or memory to your existing servers? If you are running on physical machines, consider moving into VM. That will make your life so much easier.

2/. Are you sure that DS is the bottleneck? With good data flow you can push significant parts of the logic to the underlying database(s) and drastically increase performance.

Hi Net,

In your case I'd suggest you checking DS master guide:

It's in version DS 4.2 SP10, you can change the version in this URL from 4.2.10 to 4.2.*.

Now we have 4.2 SP7 to SP10 released.
