Result Analysis For Internal Order Without Revenue

Hello experts,

I have the following business scenario. In the company some courses are dictated, these courses can last for a few months. The costs of theses courses will be posted to an internal order without revenue. As business requirement i need to configure WIP for this internal order while the courses are running and then post the cost of sales when the courses are over. After my research i have found that Result Analysis could approach to this solution, but all the documentation i have found is related to a sales order. So i need to know where do i have to configure Result Analysis for an internal order without revenues and then execute transaction KKA1.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Fernando

Hi Fernando,

Once you have done the configuration for your RA key, you can assign it to your order type via model order.

Hi Paulo,

thank you so much for the answer. Another thing i need to know is whether this internal order has to be assigned to a sales order, because the configuration is under the path of controlling by sales order.

This internal order will receive only costs, so my query is if it is mandatory to assign the internal order to a sales order to apply this model.

Hi Fernando,

Let us not confuse things. SD orders can be enabled as Controlling objects, that is done for the purpose we can allocate additional cost to them, like overheads for example, so your SD order will act as a P&L statement by "deal". In that case you would not need an Internal order as can pass all cost directly to SD order positions. You can also find RA keys customizing under Project System, but it does not mean you need to assign Internal orders to WBS-elements.

Thank you so much Paulo. Now it is clear for me. I have to configure Result analysis key, assign it to the internal order, then post all cost to the internal order and finally execute KKA1. This will give me the results as if i would be using WIP.

Please let me know if i'm right.

Best regards,

Fernando

Yes, the starting point would be to configure RA key, and you might discover new challenges along the way...
