Although we were able to make this change....we are having issues with the Transport ...whenever we try to add the Enter Object to the Transport Package and move it ...does not get into effect....or whenever we do our usual NWDI Transports to move the Webdynpro changes ...it seems to overwrite it everytime...
Pls help...
Hi Shikil,
Can you explain the steps for acheiving , I did not get the understanding of self service admin role you are takling to make this change, How you solved the issue while transporting to QA which you are talking in your post.(can this setting of hiding default calender showing up can be controlled in webdynpro coding in Listviewerslim java file or somewhere else, and one more question is when you enter time entry and save it which table is it saved in backend)
Thanks.
What we did was copied the FPM iview for Timesheet and then collapsed the calendar in the CAP(Context Assistance Pattern) ...then to transport you have to goto the webdynpro application CatDataRecord in the ess~cat DC and then change the FPM application property to the PCD Location of the new copied FPM iview....
Hope it helps.
Shikhil
Hi Shikhil,
Thanks for reply, i dinot understand "collapsed the calendar in the CAP", so you did personalization on iview or what, I want to show the worklist rather then the calender opened by default when time sheet application opens up initially, what can be done for this. Also when you fill your time sheet in the backend in which table this is stored in other words when you run the timesheet application its calling rfc HRXSS_CAT_WD_RECORDwhich reads the table and brings the table which is rendered in webdynpro java class listviewerslim for display, so whats the name of the table and it structure in the backend where data is stored and read from.when contexthelperslim java class is called.Any info on this will help.
Thanks,
pkv.
Goto the FPM iview for Timesheet (Enter Object)....select 'Next' button ...there you will see the CAP Tab ...click on that...there you will see 2 entries in the Tab ...one for Calendar and the other for Worklist...just uncheck the one for Calendar and it will become Collapsed then...and for the Table it's the CATSDB table which gets updated once the employee enters the Timesheet...
Hope it helps.
Shikhil
Hi Shikhil,
Thanks for the reply,"Goto the FPM iview for Timesheet (Enter Object)....select 'Next' button", I think you are refering to iview personalization but in the iview Record Working Time i cannotable to locate the next buttin which you refered, can you please eloborate more on that.
Thanks,
pkv
E Van Der....does that work? I have not used the Self Service Admin much. I have heard of people doing something like that with it, but I always thought that just hid the whole calendar completely. No? I would be interested to hear how it is done. I know the Self Srvc Admin gives you basically an easy way to get to some of the settings only previously possible in custom development changes and not in personalization. I would be interested to hear more.

Hi,
this is possible. I did the same thing today. You have to install the Business Package 'Self-Service Administrator'. After that you'll have a new role with that name. Assign the role to your user and log on to the portal.
Go to the Self-Service Administration tab and inside the PCD navigate to: content provided by SAP -> srvconfig -> employee self service -> timesheet -> FPM applications -> Enter.
Somewhere in the properties of the 'enter' application, you will find the VAC table or something like that. In this table you will find the worklist and the calendar, with the calendar selected by default. Unselect the calendar and I think you're problem will be solved then.

one way to do this is to use the "Web Dynpro Dynamic Component" iView. Like this, you can programmatically show/hide the Calendar iview.

This has been asked before. Bottom line....sorry, NOPE....it can't be done "as is". I have a client that wants the same thing. Bad part is that that behavior is just the default. Weird that there is no option for it. They went in and customized it JUST for that reason. haha Sorry that that is not the news you wanted.
ps. Sorry I wasn't on here sooner....I was at TechEd in Vegas! haha
