Hello All,

I am working for a client who has implemented external facing portal and whenever the customer portal is being searched on google it returns a link that is redirecting to its Paystub application.

My requirement is to either make this portal unsearchable in google or to modify the url so that it doesn't redirects to the paystub application.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

ritesh

Hi Ritesh,

For some reason, I answered it last week, but I lost my answer. :(

I am searching and cant find an feature in the portal to do this. The solution seems to be add the meta tag noindex in the framework, https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/93710?hl=en

Or turn the click-jacking on. This second would prevent the portal to run inside any framework.

See the note 2319727.

Fabio

Hello Fabio,

Thanks a lot for your response. However I am not sure where exactly i need to add the meta tag in the framework page. Could you help me out by providing the more details.

And after adding the meta tag, does my portal will not be returned in google search??

Thanks in advance

Hi Ritesh,

As Fabio mentioned please refer to search engine documentation regarding the 'noindex' header: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/93710?hl=en.

You should be able to use a reverse proxy/WebDispatcher to pass the following response header: X-Robots-Tag: noindex

Hi Ritesh,

As per Fabio's comment above, there is no such functionality within EP iteself to filter out accessing from external search engine like Google if you place your EP in external www. The right way to approach your target is to add noindex meta tag in portal or more straight forward

paystub application's HTML code.

Please refer to https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/93710?hl=en

Herman
