MCHA - MCH1 Relation

Dear all,

I would appreciate some input on the relationship between the records in these tables (MCHA, MCH1).

Are both hit when a new batch is created or is some other scenario valid?

One table is at material level, the other at material/plant level.

Depending on the batch level the majority of data is in either one of this 2 tables.

If your batch level is plant level, then both tables get updates when you create a new batch.

If you batch level is e.g. client level. Then you can create a batch record just by entering material number and batch number in MSC1N, that will update only one of the two tables.However, once you create a batch and enter the plant in MSC1N then both tables will be updated.

Same is the case if you receive the batch, then the plant is known, and the plant table gets its update.
