I installed Ides 4.6 C on windows 2000 advance server with SQL 2000, kernel 46D, Non-Unicode system. Now i want to install language, for example japanese, chinese.
the Language exist in the form of Package, so you should get that package. You can get these packages from Language folder of source installation or www.service.sap.com.
after then you execute SMLT t-code
select language --> Language --> Import Package --> Give Path and execute
i tried to execute the file KB46D02.CAR in tCode SMLT after extract that file, but always message error "No package found in this path". May be you can give me, what are file and where can i find that file
4.6c is non-unicode only. Mixing different codepage using MDMP is not an "easy" configuration task. I highly suggest you get a basis consultant on-site (or remotely) to assist you in the setup. If things are not configured properly you may corrupt data.
Basically you
- import the language from your installation CD/DVD in client 000 (SMLT)
- apply the support package language parts (SMLT)
- subsitute the non-translated parts of the language (SMLT)
As said already - it´s too lengthy to write here, some caution has to be taken to implement an MDMP system. You can read the documentation given by the other poster here and read the Language Installation PDF on the language CD.
