I have read the chapter "Working with nodes" in the BusinessObjects Enterprise Administrator's Guide, BO XI 3.0, page 203 and would like to ask whether it's possible to create, e.g., 3 nodes on one server using 3 different repositories?
I tried this on our test system: in the CCM I clicked on "Add Server Intelligence Agent", entered a new name and port, enabled "Create default servers on the new node", was then asked for another "new port" (btw: which one?) and selected two new MySQL data sources.
CCM, however, didn't create a new node - I got a "successful" message but can't see a 2nd node in the CCM.
Could someone explain the creation of node (and purpose of them) in more detail?
Thanks!
We had a similar thread on this forum about same kind of deployment.
Official position is that it's technicaly possible or at least we know it was done on Linux once, but it's not something we would recomend doing and especialy in production.
If the SIA was not created, there should be somekind of problem with this install.
Can you try creating another SIA but without CMS server in it ?
