Hi experts.

In a LMS SFSF instance I want to control course availability through LAN and external network. For example, a course that is assigned to one user should be only accesible when this user stay in the LAN but shouldn't be available when is in an external network.

Do you know how we could achieve it?

Hi fernando.serrano ,

I understand you question and see that you want to limit the accessibility of a course based on the network the user is logged in.

If you are expecting, the user should not see the course in their learning plan or the catalog, then it's not possible. The learning assignment does not support any logic on the user's network.

If you want, then you can keep the courses in your LAN Network server. That would mean that you should be using crossdomain deployment for your course. The LMS application will be hosted on SAP's server, but the content will be hosted in customer's server.

Since they are located in two different servers, there will be a crossdomain deployment done for the application, which will allow the courses to communicate.

You can have courses that are deployed in iContent server and the ones that are deployed on customer's server.

Make the customer's server only accessible on Intranet or when in the same network. This should help with your requirement. But, please note that if a user tries to access the course hosted on your server (outside of LAN network), they will see an error when they are not able to reach the network. This might come in as an overhead for your team, due to the user's queries reaching your team. Please decide, based on this factor as well.

Hope I have answered your query. If not, then feel free to reach back. Thanks

Kind Regards,
Sumit Kumar
