Delete Product Hierarchy

Hello,

within the SAP product group setup I created a new hierarchy which unfortunately had a wrong name. Although there is no other group within this hierarchy it is not possible to edit the hierarchy name oder delete the whole hierarchy to create a new one. Why is that?

I don´t understand this missing option to delete a hierarchy especially at the point where there a no groups or articles assigned.

Dear Sebastian,

Once you create and save the root level (Product Category), it is not possible to delete it. The reason for not allowing deletion of the root level is that it will generate inconsistencies in the system. This is the designed behavior.

Once a Root Product Category is saved, it is not possible change its ID.

Once a Root Product Category is created, it is not possible to delete the root product category ID.

For root category, you are only allowed to change the description.

You are able to delete the sub categories, if they're not used in any Products.
