Master insp. characteristics

Dear all

i have used one master insp. characteristic in many plans and now i make some change in that characteristic,how this change will be applicabe in all plans.please guide

hi ahmad,

let me know, how you have used this mic to the different plans?

See the MIC is a master that is managed in versions. So you would also had a new version with these changes for that MIC, Correct?

Now run trx QS27 and replace the older version by new one.

i have created MIC .then assigned this mic to different plans.Now if i want to change lets say only discription so how this change will be implemented to all plans.

otherwise i have to delete that MIC from each plan and the create new one and then assign to each plan.

i think it must have some sol.

as u suggested i have created a new version of that MIC and in qs27 when go to replace with that new version it shows lock in first column and gives error as following

Diagnosis

There may be several reasons that lock indicators appear in the first column. For example:

The master inspection characteristic is unlocked and only used as a copy model.

The characteristic is not completely maintained.

A user exit is active (see Implementation Guide).

please guide me how can i replace it

Ok i guess the description that you need to change is same for all the inspection plans.

E.g.

Current description is "Length"

New Description is "Weight"

Run trx QS22, Change the description, Save. As soon as you save it will ask you to replace the older version by the new one, (If the settings done in the customizing), So change it.

And if it don't work, there is no worry, now you have two versions for the MIC.

So run trx QS27 and replace the Older version with fresh.

Ok then now your MIC is, reference MIC so you cant do it by QS27.

- Then run trx CWBQM

- Enter Current Working area as "Q_OPR_000000000010" press Enter

- Now go with the "Additional Selection criteria". Not with the "Basic Selection Criteria"

- Here there several tabs like Header,Operation, etc,,,,Select the tab "Inspection Characteristic"

- Enter the MIC number, and plan also if required.

- Now Press "Ctrl+F7"

- Here in the next appearing screen (EWB:Inspection Characteristic Overview"), select the column for "VERSION"

- Now select the line items for which you need to related the MIC.

- Follow the path,,, EXTRAS--->Mass Change.

- Get the version older version (e.g. 1) replace with New (e.g. 2).

- Save.

Finished the, MIC is replaced.

my scenario is that

i have a mic and used in many plans

i created its 2nd version with all parameters same only its one control indicator is changed.

now i have 2 versions of the same mic with same discription.

when i run trx qs27 and wants to replace version 1 with 2 to all plans it gives lock button in replace column and gives error

I have edited my post have look at it, try it by CWBQM

Hi,

Use the assgiment button in MIC (Chain like).

Automatically all the changes will be reflected in all the Plans.
