Change in display of the field when loaded into BW

Hi Experts,

I have a field, 0DESC that gets the Decription from R/3.

When I try to load the file from R/3 or flat file, the display of this field is changing, except everything else populated correclty. The datatype if CHAR(50).

Ex. If there is '0.5% of total' is the description of the field, it changes to '0,5% of total'.

Please advice if there are any settings that needs to be changed to get the field populated correctly in BW.

Hi,

This is definitely a user specific setting. You can change it in USER PROFILE. This will be limited to your logon only.

I take it you mean comma and not full stop

This is due to the user profile settings of the ALEREMOTE or whatever userid you used to extract the data from R3

To be quite honest you may be opening up a minefield on this one - as in R3 the field will change depending on the user setting as well

ie UK users will see 0.5% and european users will see 0,5%.

If you have concatenated these fields into a txt object at extraction then one or both of these user communities is going to complain
