Hi forum
I am having some trouble getting the External List Management function to upload business partner data into CRM. I have managed to create the external list in CRMD_MKTLIST, which has in turn generated the outbound workflow from my user. There seems to be a failure in the further processing of the workflow by the system to process the relevant steps. The status of the background task in the workflow log is shown as 'Ready'; the workflow system does not automatically execute the background task to process the steps as it should.
Any help would be greatly appreciated in getting this issue resolved.
Cheers
Gavin
Quite a simple answer to this one... the general workflow settings were not made in customising. Once I made these settings in SWU3 the workflows were generated and executed automatically and the steps were processed.

Hi Gavin.
I just started working with ELM and got through all the workflow stuff.
I have problems creating new business partners in the list load. I have searched for the file Y_External_list.csv mentioned in Best Practices without any luck.
Do you have a test file in csv which describes a format for organisations.
Regards, Lotte
Hi Lotte
When I was testing this functionality I created some simple mapping formats to use for the creation of BPs. An example would be:
Position Field
1. ORG_TITLE_KEY
2. ORG_NAME1
3. ORG_COUNTRYISO
I then simulated some data in an csv file like this using the ~ character as the separator:
0003NameAGB
0003NameBGB
0003NameCGB
If you use the fields relevant to organisations when creating the mapping format then the resulting BPs will be organisations.
I am not sure if this is the best practice way of creating a file, but it works well and is very scalable as you can add in many fields.
Please let me know if you need anymore help.
Cheers
Gavin
