Hi,

I installed TREX 7.1 for Embadded Search for Solman 7.2 .
If I try to start the TREXAdmin.sh i get the following:

trexenv.sh: Host name not found out of /usr/sap/sapservices, defaulting to local physical host
Error: Instance not found for host <myhostname>
/home/trxadm/trexenv.sh: line 140: return: -1: invalid option
return: usage: return [n]

Anyone who know whats the Problem?
Best Regards,

Paul Socke

Hi Paul

If you look for information on how to change the TREX hostname, you also have information on how to troubleshoot why the system is unable to find it. You can have a look at this for example:

https://help.sap.com/doc/saphelp_nw70ehp1/7.01.16/en-US/48/b2cc77982a3095e10000000a421937/content.htm?no_cache=true

I assume you have a virtual hostname for your TREX but in this case, since the system doesn't find the corresponding entry in file /usr/sap/sapservices, it tries to find your TREX with physical hostname which fails then.

The hostname is used in multiple locations, filesystem (or folder) structure, profile, sapservices file so you would have to verify those and try to figure out why it's not found.

Best regards

Tom
