Namespace is not shown in MWDS

Hi Experts,

I have created a namespace in the sld in the following manner

In SLD, Name Reservation--> Name Prefixes, i have provided Name Category as "Development Component Name " and on clicking New Name Prefix i have created a new name space.

But this does'nt get in my NWDS, When i do Create New DC... in my SC , the vendor remains editable and the drop down does'nt show anything.

I have updated by CMS, and i have restarted my server. No Luck...

What should be done more?

I have already created some DC's in my SC and then i have configured the namespace... Will this be a problem?

Before Creating my first DC in my SC should i define the namespace?

hello,

I think that you did not activated the SLD as name server for the NWDI. Did you try the following procedure:

Hello,

yeah i have missed that step since i used template installer to configure the NWDI and in the Import software components step i got error and i continued with manual configuration.

As of now i have completed the development congifuration and i have imported the same in the NWDS, the only thing pending now is the Name Server.

if i configure the name server and activate it is enough or should i remove all the other configuration and continue from here...

I have configured the name server and made update in the CMS and tried to re-import the development configuration but stil the problem exists...

Valuable help will be highly appreciated..

Opps...

At the last i was able to find the Names in NWDS.

In the Name Server Configuration in DTR WebUI, i added the same Name Server Information once again in the second name server, and by doing this i was able to find my Namespace in the NWDS.

Then i delete the first Name server in the Name Server Configuration and it to be works fine now...

I found the solution from this thread

In which they say...

The solution is to define your name server a second time with a slightly different URL. The first entry you already defined probably uses the fully qualified hostname, e.g. http://<host>.mycompany.com:50000/sld/cimom. Define the same name server again but without the domain and without the /sld/cimom path, e.g. http://<host>:50000/. Actually it should correspond to what's shown in the error message, e.g. "operation will be retried name reservation : name server=http://<host>:50000/,". When you click Save Configuration, the pending items in the queue will be processed.

Though its working fine... i would like to know what has happened in myscenario and how it was succesful now... What the PENDING,_SUCCEEDED and *_FAILED reperesent in the Name Reservation List and its importance?

Check if the Name Server Configuration of your DTR is correct using the DTR WebUI.

Can i know where can i find the Name Space Configuration in DTR WebUI. I am able see a few icons on the top right corner,...like,.... Activity Serach, File/Folder Search....

Hi..

I dont fine any thing in that URL...URL, User, Password, Trust Store, Key Store remains empty...

I have provided URL = http://<server>:<port>;

User =NWDI_CMSADM

Pwd= *********

Trust Store = TrustedCAs

Key Store = <empty>

and i saved the configuration but still no luck...

Any further steps to be followed?

In another server where the NWDI 7.0 (SP14 )configured i was able to find a button "Disable this SLD as Name Sever for NWDI" in the "Name Reservation" in SLD Home Page

But the same doesnt appear when i click at Name Reservation, but in my system i have NWDI 7.0 (SP15)

Any thing went wrong in my config?

Go to your SLD and find the SLD system in the Technical Landscape. Edit it and make sure that it is marked as a Name Server. CMS should then automatically configure the Name Server Configuration after a while (you may need to use Update CMS in the CMS Landscape Configurator).

Hi..

I found nothing in the Technical Landscape, then i created a SLD system and made it as both Landscape Server and Name Server and Updated the CMS and re-imported the developement configuration but still the problem exists...

• What the Object Server field represents ? I have just entered the name which we have registered in Service market place.
