I want to have a try for HANA in SAP cloud. But don't know my HANA account and password. Please advise what account should be used here or how can I register one?

Hi Sunny,

If you haven't yet created your user in HANA, proceed to the DB page on the cockpit and click on the link to create the user.

If you have already done so, but forgot the password, the option is to login with the System password and try to manually modify your user's password using the Workbench --> Security. Another option is trying to accomplish the same with another SCP member that you know has never created a user in your DB. If you don't know any other member in your subaccount, then what you could do is create a new user in the hana trial landscape using another e-mail. Then add this user as member of your subaccount and create a new DB user. Then you will be able to modify your own password the same way explained above.

Ivan

Hi Ivan,

Thank you for your response. Can you show me where to create the user?

Hi Sunny,

Open the schema name. You should see the links to administration tools.

(1) Click on the Admin Cockpit. You should see the following screen:

(2) Click on the HANA Cockpit link

(3) Logon with the System user (the one you used during the DB setup) The first time you logon, it will assign the required permissions to access the cockpit.

(4) Click on the following tile:

(5) The following screen should open:

(6) Double-Click the DB user that had been created for you during the initial setup or create a new user id and password for you.

(7) Hit save.

If you don't have the system user it will not be possible to change/create users on the Hana DB system. So all you can do is recreate the DB from scratch or find another user that still has access to the DB.

It used to be the same user that you logon to the SCP Cockpit, and there used to be a link that created a user with the same ID on the DB - but this has obviously changed.

If this is the such case I would open a "Service Request --> via cockpit" or an Incident --> via Support Channel and request a password reset of user 'system' (not even sure if this is possible).

Regards,
Ivan

Hi Ivan,

The login problem happens in your first step. When I Click on the Admin Cockpit. It jumps to the login interface.

Hi Sunny,

Try with the SYSTEM credentials that you gave when you created the DB.

Hi Sunny,

As mentioned in step (3) from my previous answer you need to login with SYSTEM user (that's the name of the user). As mentioned by Suriya, this user has been created to you on the DB when you created the HANA DB the first time. If you lost the password for SYSTEM user, then the only option I see is to open an Incident at SAP support system.

Ivan
