early watch

I have just recieved results from an SAP early watch report - and it states the following

SIZE OF TRANSACTION LOG FILE OF SBO-COMMON

Recommendation: The log size of the SBO-Common file is relatively big, but not in a critical size. This could indicate a wrong setting in your database.

What does this mean? and what setting in the DB could be wrong?

    Hi Lisa,

In this case, you need to shrink the sbo-common database as the size of the database is relatively big indicated by the report.

Refer to the SAP notes : 1002099, 625546 which will describe how to shrink the log file

    Lisa,

Beside shrinklogfile (as suggested by other members), you could also detach the database, delete the log file and then reattach the mdf file. System will create new log file but will not update or delete the mdf file. This is really perfect whenever your database log file size is above 500 MB.

either shrink or following the above method, it would be better to do that after all users have been log out.

    Rgds,
