Hi,

When we go to Benefits Administraion -> Define Benefit Adjustment reasons (Table T74HA),

I need to define fixed date to one of the adjust ment reason. and this fixed date is end of the current year always. How can this be done? Does it need to be done once in every year manually ? Please help.

Configuration for Date settings for Adjustment Reasons Like Hire, Divorce, Family Status Change etc., can be done in IMG ( Personnel Management --> Benefits ---> Flexible Administration --> Benefit Adjustment Reason --> Define Benefit Adjustment Reasons ) and then select the respective Adjustment reasons ( Open Enrollment in case of ESS , Hire , Add a Child , Marriage for Life & Work Events ) and press the Zoom class and sets the dates over there....

Alternatively, you can set this value in View "V_T74HA" from Tcode SM30.

Typically for the Hire Action there would be an Adjustment Reason HIRE under above Config.

Usually they will let the employee select the benefit plans within 30 time period. For HIRE Adjustment Reason, i guess you are trying to config Life and Work Event...

Other thing one could do in ESS is Open Enrollment...

It is very big topic to discuss.. I guess above information helps you...

Thanks for the answer. I know how to set the value here. My question is "Is there any way to default current year end date to Other Date value??" in End of Records value

Have you tried Dynamic Actions? ie create a 378 with current year enddate as the endda during the HIRE event?

Try setting the End of Records Date under Validity of Infotype records in V_T74HA.

yes that is what i want to do but

To answer your question directly, this need to be done once in a year and at the begining of new year.

In our current implementation, we have given set of instruction for config changes for early maintainence before open enrollment and new year starting...

Or you can ask an ABAPer to create an easy program to access the infotype and change the end date. You set tour date to 9999.12.31 and once a year you run the program

Thanks for the answer. But what is the need of a program? I am talking about one single entry in one of the customizing tables. I am not talking abt Infotype record but record in the table T74HA.

Is there any way to set the date in the table T74HA to current year end date?

Hi SM,

If you want to set the default date as 9999.31.12 plese do maintain the IT0378 where we can give Benifit area and Adjustment reason. where the system will take the dates as ITcreation date and default date as 9999.31.12.

and the same date will reflect in the table which you have mentioned.

and also this will be defaulted while creating adjustment reasons.

Thanks for the answer. Setting up the 9999.31.12 is very easy in this table and it is straight forward. I am looking for setting up the fixed date and end date of the current year. I see that this needs to be maintained every year manually. Is there any way to automate it in configuration?

I guess we don't really understand your need.

What is a point of a reason valid for one year only, but re-newable? Is it something like (example only) part time EE are eligible only once a year one 1st of january ?

Hi Valerie,

Yes you are right. This is new hire action and valid only for month of employee joining the organization. We want to specify the fixed date in this table for New Hire action as current year end date because, ESS Program reads the end date from this table and looks for plans/premiums through out the end date which results in error as plans/premiums are not setup for future years.

It's a little bit beyond my knowledge... Not that good in benefits+ ESS I have to let you down on that one...

If you reverse the problem, did you check if there are any enhancement for ESS reading to check IT0378 (you generate them right?) instead of table?
