1709 S/4HANA Planning on custom dimensions

Hi All,

I have a requirement to plan and report on products. Now somehow the standard /ERP/PRODUCT info object does not hold the data from T179 (Product Hierarchies) table.

Although I want to populate the details from this table in to BW info object (custom or standard).

From the data perspective I was able to create a calculation view (consuming T179) and call it in the custom info object. But I am not able to replicate the hierarchy created in HANA view in to the respective BW info object's hierarchy. The hierarchy created in the view is a custom made, derived from the T179 data set.

Can you please help?

In general, what are the different options of replicating a custom hierarchy created completely in HANA to pull in BW and then have it enabled for planning (disaggregation etc.) and reporting?

Thank you for the response.

Similar to the customized solution for master data attributes, do we have a solution for consuming custom hierarchies from HANA in to the BW Info Object? I get a sense that we presently don't have one. Appreciate if you tell me I am wrong.

Hello,

So far what you have done is what we recommend. Generally speaking if what need is not provided through pre-delivered HANA views and BW objects, then you need to customize the pre-delivered. To customize, you need to create your own HANA views consistent with what pre-delivered view is but adding your specific requirements. Furthermore, you need to create wrapper InfoObjects that you can add the required attributes and can consume the data from your HANA view. Please review this KBA 2607129 for details.
