Visual Composer iView creation and transport changes to QA Portal system

Hi Experts,

Our developers have created a visual composer model and view through visual composer and deployed on to our DEV Portal system.

We can see those under content administration> Portal Content> Visual composer folder

What we need is....

1. Create a new iView in different folder with Deltalink to the iView which exits in Visual composer folder

2. Need to move the Base (Model, iView), Newly created Delta Link iView, Localisation file, Par file through transport package to the Quality Portal system. From where I have to pick the Localisation file, Par file?

Please help me to sort this out. Points should be awarded for your helpful answers.

Thanks for the links.

1. We have created a new iView by the option Copy and Paste as Dela link in customer specific folder under PCD for the iView which is stored in standard PCD>Visual Composer>Models folder.

2. We can transport the content with export and import options but as per the SAP recommendation we should also need to transport the Localisation and Par files for the Model. But we are unable to find these. Could you please share your knowledge-------How to generate Localisation and Par files for a VC Model and collect these into a Portal transport.

Hi,

If you follow the How to Doc you can definitly get the all localaisation and Par files.

I think the ese files are not getting becasue ,you have done the copy and past b/w the deployment folder and the Customized folder.

this causing the problem.

to avoid this Problem : mention the deploy ment folder of the mdoels in the Visual composer under options as Your customized folder so that you can direclt trasnaport the model from there

Otherwise try the Procedure mentioned in the Doc

Hi Ravi,

What i guess from ur query is that u need to transport the iviews from dev to QA. Why do u need to create another iview. U can create a role and directly assign VC iview to that role as delta link in dev.

For transporting goto systemadministration-->transport packages --> export -->portal content --> visual composer > transport packages for VC. Create a new transport package and assign ur model with option " eveything below". U will get a .par file . download it in ur system. Go to QA system and systemadministration>transport packages --> import, Import the .par file. That will transport ur iview to QA.
