Audit: Index-Dependent Subreqs and Unit Values with Decimal Places

Recently, I noticed that PI comparisons in index-dependent subrequirements can only accept natural numbers. However, quantities such as contained in the CPATTEMP, CPEARNED, and CPGRADED fields of the PIQSI2S_PERFORMANCE structure and ACPI_VALUE of PIQSI2S_ACAD_PERFORMANCE_INDEX do have decimal places, and there is no good reason why a PI would truncate/round a calculated value at/to the radix point.

In IMG: SAP NetWeaver -> General Settings -> Check Units of Measure, I contemplated creating a new unit, such as "deci-Credit Hours" or "centi-Credit Hours", but think this would be very clumsy both from the maintenance standpoint and for display purposes.

We actually do need fractional credit hours because when we are on a semester system, and when we receive transfer credit from schools on a quarter-year system, it may be fractional in comparison to ours. As a result, our university has an odd(?) policy of accepting credit hour totals with fractional parts to fulfill various subrequirements.

Does anyone have any thoughts on addressing this issue?

(Maybe the answer is just to use index-independent subrequirements with credit hour parameters for everything.)

Thank you,

In the Base IMG Configuration Guide for SLCM (on page 40), it is described how the CRH unit of measure should actually be set to 2 decimal places initially. This allows you to use fractional credits and also to compare against fractional values in the audit subrequirements.

I have just done a quick verification in our internal demo system and had no problem with creating an index-dependent sub-requirement based on Credits (Audits) with a comparison value of 15.50. The profile generation and audit execution also performed as desired.

So, I suggest you adjust your unit of measure for credits in a sandbox system and then verify that there are no adverse affects.
