Also I need to know the starting point on how to create collaboration room and how to configure services there.

Thanks Gurus for your help.

Now I can create the room but how can I assign a group of users to use this room and enter it. Is there any iview to create before and assign it to a role and then role to users?.

Also the rooms in portal can serve as project management place that can tell members the deliverables and inform about the deadlines like MS project does.

What is the difference between assigning a room to users (After creating a room) and assigning "Col room navigation iview" to users without creating anything. I mean where the folders and rest of information will reside in each case.

Thanks for all your help

Hello Shafquat Khan,

Yaa For ur concern here is the Solution

Actually what happens is that when ever any ROOM is created in Portal corresponding to that one folder is created Automatically in Content Administration - - >KM Content - - > Rooms - - > Khan Room(For eg) What u have to do is Create one KM Navigation Ivierw form Content Adminnistration right Click new

then in property Path to Initially Displayed Folder Property put the path of the Room for eg Khan Room

Now Please be very care full when u will put Path, for that click on Context Menu of khan Room and select Details then click on Settings Select Properties then Click on Access Links theare u will find ID for eg xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

Copy this id and past in Path to Initially Displayed Folder

Property of Iview for eg /rooms/xxxxxxxxxxxxx.

then u can assign this Iview to Role and can give Required access to any number of People.

Please Reward points if helpfull

Regards.

Thanks a lot. You have answered my question. Now I know how to link the CM repository folders to an iview and assing access.

I am assigning you full points. At this point I have two questions:

1) Within the documents folder I have "Checkout " tab available for the document that I upload along with Checkin and cancel checkin. But within the new folder I created in CM repository the checkout feature is missing. The other two are there.

2) I am able to create rooms and when I enter room I see creating tasks and deadlines and all project management stuff there. Can we do project management like creating the room. How can I create an iview and enter into room through an iview and link that iview to that room. Do we assign permissions through the room or through the iview.

Thanks a lot for helping me learn room and collaboration.

Hiii

If u want to access your room through an iview u can create Km navigation iview.

use this link :

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/b6/29892e91601940bb7a2cd673a1dff5/frameset.htm

Or follow this procedure:

in portal content in u r folder create an iview. Define type as KM navigation iview.Give ivew name , id and etc.

Open object for editing: Then click on context menu for which u want to create iview.

go to details>>> properties>>> access link>>> and cpy Short id.

paste this id to ur Iviews property Path to navigation like ( /rooms/d09ac2dc-1118-2b10-0397-aecb6db6f8c5) and save .

Assign this iview to wrkset and then to role u want.

If any query pls revert back

Thanks

rewards r welcome.
