Flowgraphs in WEB IDE vs hdbreptask in Catalog Development Workbench

Hi Experts,

We are exploring the way to implement a reporting solution using HDI.

Our requirement is to use the data in S4hana System and build reports on it using Calculation views.

Earlier we generally used to replicate tables via SLT into Hana schema and then build calculation views in catalog via Hana Studio.

If we want to achieve the same via HDI Modelling approach we could narrow down below two approaches.

Approach 1: We observe that we can create hdbreptask in development workbench and replicate tables in Hana Schema and also we can add multiple tables in a single hdbreptask.

Then create a service on the schema to access these tables in HDB module in WEB IDE.

Approach 2: The other way is to create Flowgraphs in HDB Module in Web IDE and get the data in HDI Container tables and later build Calculation views. One thing we observed is Flowgraph can only have single Target. Hence If, we have 100 tables required in project 100 flowgraphs are required.

Also among these 100 tables many are master/text tables which do not require any transformation.

Please let us know if there is any mistake in our understanding. Also could you please let us know if their could be the any other ideal way to achieve best possible solution.

Awaiting your response, Thanks in advance.
