Shop Floor control IMPLEMENTATION QUERIES

Hi Experts,

I have a chemical client and I am advising them to implement Process management. I have previously supported a BIG company using process management and am using that experience here. I still have some queries,

1. Is it necessary to send CR to some external system ? or should we implement PI sheets ? How should we choose? Previous client was using both.

2. If sending to 3rd Party, which tools are available and which you would suggest for a client with 5 Manufacturing plants. Previous client was using IP21.

3. If sending to 3rd party, will we need some middleware as well or maybe SAP PI?
