relevance of pricing in Delivery Document

Hi Gurus

How pricing is transferred from Sales Doc to Delivery Document, and from Delivery document to Billing document.

What is the relevance of pricing in Delivery document, can we see the pricing in delivery document?

Is pricing from Sales doc is passed to billing document through delivery document?

Thanks in Advance

Hi there,

Pricing is transfered from one doc to another through copy controls. VTLA for SO to delivery, VTFA from order to billing, VTFL from delivery to billing.

Go to VL02N --> Header --> Conditions to see pricing in delivery. When we create a delivery, business can choose to have a different pricing as taxes & freight is added.

Its not necessaru that pricing flows to billing from delivery. It can directly flow from SO in VTFA. The setting in Pricing type at item level copy control controls how the price is done billing. If the setting is G, system will copy pricing elements unchanged & redetermines the taxes. If it is B, it carries out new pricing.

Hi,

How pricing is transferred from Sales Doc to Delivery Document, and from Delivery document to Billing document.

Normally sales orders are assigned with a pricing procedure, which carries item price, discounts, taxes etc. The delivery documents are assigned with a different pricing procedure, which carries condition types for freight rates, oil surcharges etc.. These prices are transferred to billing document pricing procedure through copy control setting. The transaction code is VTFL. If the check at the item level copy control, there are couple of fields Price source and pricing type determines the pricing in the billing document.

Note that the billing document pricing procedure carries all the pricing condition types, that are assigned in the sales order pricing procedure and delivery document pricing procedure.

What is the relevance of pricing in Delivery document, can we see the pricing in delivery document?

If delivery document is assigned with the same pricing procedure like sales document, then yes you can see the pricing. However, normal practice is the delivery document is assigned with a different pricing procedure, which carries only the condition types related to freight rate.

Is pricing from Sales doc is passed to billing document through delivery document?

Both are transferred to billing document through copy control setting, and the transaction codes are VTFL and VTFA.
