XI 3.0 Client tools with Vintela SSO prompts user to change password?????

Hi,

We have a XI 3.0 server with Vintela SSO enabled. The SSO works when accessing InfoView.

BUT,

When loging on with Deski or Desginer selecting Windows AD, the user is prompted to change thier password (Old passw, New Passw, Confirm Pass) .... However when doing this with Webi Rich Client, logon is fine.

Am I missing something somewhere to cause this behaviour?

Thanks for any input.

Jacques

We had a bug that was not fixed in 3.0. the bug caused (deski/designer) AD/LDAP users to be prompted to change passwords (when this is set in enterprise restrictions). This should not be the case users should not be prompted. I believe this will be fixed in 3.1 or SP1 for 3.0. Let me know if you need the ADAPT #.

Hi Tim,

Thanks, I suspected something like this but was not sure. I had a test server set up on XP and installed the client tools on Vista and the SSO worked fine for the client tools. Now with XI 3.0 running on a full blown Windows 2003 x64 Server and XP clients, this issue occurs.

If you could provide me with the ADAPT # it would be great so that I can communicate this to my customer.

I am hoping the SP1 will be vailable soon, as per another [thread|; I am having issues applying FP 1 or FP 2 already. I have even gone to the point of rebuilding the server from OS level, but still have the same issues. We have a call open with TechSupport, and will post once we get a response.

Thanks

Jacques

Hi Jacques,

It sounds like you may have Enterprise aliases created for the users in the CMC. Please go into the CMC|Users and confirm if a known user that gets prompted for this has the option 'User must change password at next logon' enabled.
