SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2 not working however...

This is for Solution Manager 4.0/7.0

I am setting up an auto-reaction method to send emails when alerts come up in CCMS. I have gotten SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT to work, but I want to use the additional functionality in SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2 but I can't get the auto-reaction to fire an email when using this function module.

only in central system triggered by CCMS in place of periodically in dialog process is assigned automatically when the assignment is done in RZ21.

execute method on : any server.

and did you create this method under the RZ21 --> technical infrastructure > assign central auto-reactions> create central auto-reactions, (with or with out template)

check for SAPConnect settings in SICF. if its activated properly.

Kaustubh.

The top two suggestions have already been done.

I need to look into assigning central auto-reactions --- I will update this thread when I complete the leg work

SICF is fine because I am able to get emails from the other method

Thanks for your reply and I will let you know what happens with the auto-reaction assignment

Hello Rob,

> Parameters Tab:

> SENDER: <user id> - email address had been maintained in client 000

did you wrote the user id in capital letters?

AFAIK SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT will work with a parameter using small letters but SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2 needs capital letters, otherwise the sender is not recognized correctly and the SAPconnect infrastructure could refuse to create the mail.

Regards, Michael

SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2 needs capital letters

They were in lowercase letters and as soon as I changed them to UPPERCASE I immediately got a handful of alert messages in my inbox. Thanks a lot, this fixed my problem! Thanks to everyone else for your help as well.

Got the same issue. In my case, no email was generated with FM SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT_V2, all was in UPPERCASE and it worked with SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT.

Please note that NO MAIL will be sent if you don't have an alert in history... I was testing with Availability_SysPercent_ABAP and always was at 100%!!  I tested with another MTE and it just worked well.

I had the same issue and the UPPERCASE userid solved my issue as well. Thanks!

If u'r using the system as CEN, select only in central system option.

I changed it, but emails are still not getting sent.

Make sure scot(SMTP) is configured. You can check whether emails are sent out - rz20 - select MTE - open alerts - display alerts.

If you see status as ACTIVE then there is configuration issue in TC - scot.

also in rz20 check View - status auto reaction.

I am able to receive emails with SALO_EMAIL_IN_CASE_OF_ALERT so the issue isn't with SCOT.

The status of the auto-reaction shows as "checked"

try starting the auto reaction manually & see if u can receive emails.

rz20 - activate the maintenance function.

Edit - nodes - start methods - start auto reaction.

If u'r able to receive emails, then check again the scot configuration

Manually kicking it off did not produce an email
