Hi everyone.

In the company I work for , we make sto between our plants mostly with transportation agents. So we use Shipment cost with freigth charged to material cost. (Feigth is calculated automatically and depends on shipment total weigth).

Now we use STO and outbound delivery , so we pay freigth with supplying plant weigth.

There is a new company need , to pay it with receaving plant weigth.

After reading about SPED funcitionality (Stock Transfer Generates Inbound Delivery), I think it is possible to associate inbound delivery to the shipment document , then create shipment cost , so freigth will be charged to material cost at inbound delivery good receipt.

Do you know if it would work this way? I would appreciate if you comment any similar experience.

Regards

Hello Valencia,

What you are describing can be an option, the issue is that usually the inbound delivery is created only after the GI on the outbound delivery. This means that you will not be able to create the shipment before the GI on the outbound delivery

An option can be to create different transportation planning points for each of your receiving plant and to affect them to the correct Porg/plant in SPRO > Logistics Execution > Transportation > Shipment Cost > Settlement > Assign Purchasing Data

Ex:
Transportation planning point 1 / Shipment type 1 / POrg X / Purch Group X / Receiving Plant 1
Transportation planning point 2 / Shipment type 1 / POrg X / Purch Group X / Receiving Plant 2

During the creation of your shipment you should chose the transportation planning point corresponding to the receiving plant so the PO for shipment cost settlement will have a plant corresponding to the receiving plant even if deliveries were issued from another plant.

Ex:
If I want the plant 2 to pay for the transport, I create the shipment with the Transportation planning 2

Hope this help
