    Hi Nishanth,

Basically when u want to transfer IDOCs in A2A scenarios it can be done by using ALE settings .But XI comes in to picture when u transfer data based on certain conditions like

based on occurence of a particular field F1 from source side

some segment at SEG3 at target side should be repeated....

Like this there will be different cases so in order to acheive this

XI will be used instead of going to transfer by ALE.

    Regards,

    Vinod.

There is no question of advantage of transferrig IDoc thru XI... be it A2A or B2B.

If both the system are SAP system and the IDoc in source and target are of same format that it can be transferred using ALE.

If not it requires a middleware like XI to transform the source message format to the target message format.

In B2B party will be additionally used...

    Thanks

Transferring IDOC b/w A2A SAP systems with SAP XI is advantageous coz monitoring can be done at sender and receiver side both. It can be done either by proxy, idoc, rfc adapters.
