Serial Number

I have a scenario where we purchase mobile prepaid cards.These prepaid cards are to be managed by Serial Numbers.

I had maintained the Serial number profile for these materials.While doing the GR,it asks for serial number to be entered.

We buy prepaid cards in thousands and cant define all individual serial numbers.Is there anyway to maintain the ranges for serial numbers while doing the GR.

For ex: 100000000 to 100008000.

It would be great,if someone can provide me a solution for this.

Hi,

Try to maintain No. Range in OIEN

Go to SPRO > Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Technical Objects > Serial Number Management > Serial Number Management (Her you can do configuration of Serial No Management)

Thanks for ur prompt response.

I was not asking to define number ranges of serial numbers.

My issue is during GR,I will be recieving prepaid cards for around 1000 Nos.The system will prompt me to enter the serial numbers for all the 1000 cards.Is there anyway where I can upload the required serial numbers or give a range for it in the GR transaction itself..
