Portal Log Off

HI experts,

THe log off link at the masthead is a Standard SAP, which i'm hiding as our requirments is to remove that link and rely instead on the IE's x button. Currently however, clicking on the IE's x button will not terminate the session but instead, it is relying on a timeout value. Is there anyway or anywhere I can configure to terminate the session when IE's x button is clicked?

Thanks,

    • Hi,

Actually the SAP Portal "listens" to the closing of its window. The event "onunload" that is called when the brower closes will trigger a popup that is located out of sight (coordinates x,y -50K,-50K). This popup is the Distributes Session Manager popup and it will act as a Terminator for all sesions that where registered with the DSM. If a session was never registered to the DSM OR you have a popup blocker active then the sessions will not get closed an you have a issue.

So concluding... there is something that need to be looked at in your environment because sessions need to close when you close your Portal window.
