Problem with a hierarchy

Former Member

Hello!

I go through the SAP Bw example.

I have defined the following hierarchy:

NODE 1

COSTELM (Characteristic) = 1

NODE 2

MATERIAL (Characteristic) = A

COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = X

MATERIAL (Characteristic) = B

COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = Y

COSTELM (Characteristic) = 2

NODE 2

MATERIAL (Characteristic) = A

*COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = H*

MATERIAL (Characteristic) = B

*COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = Z*

The problem is that when we want to insert: MATERIAL (Characteristic) = A

*COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = H*

We can do only a link indicator for a hierarchy node and we don´t want that.

Could you tell me how to implement this hierarchy???.

Thanks in advance!!!

Oscar

Hi Oscar,

took me a moment to guess what you want. I hope I got that right:

You want to create a hierarchy on 0COSTCENTER using 0MATERIAL as nodes in the hierarchy ?

To do this, go to infoobject 0COSTCENTER and open "change". Select Tab "Hierarchy" and go to the button "External Chars. in Hierachies". There you select "0MATERIAL" and add it to the right table. Now you can use nodes of 0MATERIAL in the 0COSTCENTER Hierarchy.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

Jürgen

Hello,

We incluyed 0MATERIAL into "External Chars. in Hierachies" to the 0COSTCENTER yet, but our problem is that 0MATERIAL is a Characteristic that we want to repeat into hierarchy but really the leaves nodes are differents, and we can´t include it, because the system only let to do a link indicator for a hierarchy node.

NODE 1

0MATERIAL (Characteristic) = A

COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = X

0MATERIAL (Characteristic) = B

COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = Y

NODE 2

0MATERIAL (Characteristic) = A

*COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = H*

0MATERIAL (Characteristic) = B

*COSTCENTER (Characteristic) = Z*

Thanks in advance!!!
