critera for getting in

last week i saw one job opening in sap labs and the eligiblity critera for that was

canditate should have above 60 percent throught out his schooling and in higer education like degree or in masters apart from good techincal knowledge.

my question is it the marks we have scored in schools judge our potential.

i might not have good academic record in my school but i have been pretty good in sap mm (although i am still a learner and i dont claim to be an hot shot) as i was among top contributors in sap mm forum apart from that i have cleared the interviews for sap mm in atl east 10 companys in a row and those are sap global and implementation partener like IBM etc.

then why is that we give so much of an importance to acads and not to the potential of a guy

is it really fair to punish someone who did mistakes in child hood !!!!!
